Take Your Ukrainian Lady to the Best Odessa Beaches

25. September 2012 by Lorena 0 Comments

A visit to Odessa would not be complete without a day on the famous beaches to the east of the city. Most beaches are free to enter, but also have VIP areas that you can access for a fee.

Lanzheron can easily be reached by foot from Odessa. The trip out is a pleasant and scenic 20 minute walk. Boats, umbrellas and cabanas can be rented inexpensively. This beach, historically, was the summer home of 18th century Novorossiya  governor, Count Langeron. The Odessa Dolphinarium, which is the largest aquarium in the Ukraine, is nearby.

Otrada is about 10 minutes outside the city center. For an unique and pleasant trip, take the cable car out. Beach entrance is free, and you can rent boats on the beach. This beach is especially popular with water sports fans.

Arkadia Beach in the Primorsky district is popular with tourists. You’ll meet people from all over Europe here. During the day, you can boat, sit on the shore, or enjoy the water slides. At night, head out to discotheques, restaurants and night clubs.

Dolphin beach is most popular with students. During breaks from school, young people flock here for parties and nights at the discotheques.

Zolotoy Bereg is popular with surfers. The story of how the beach gets its name depends on who you ask. Some say that it is named for its distinctive gold sand; others say that the beach hides buried gold treasure from a lost Turkish trading ship.

Malibu Beach is in Luzanovka, about 20 minutes from the center of Odessa. This is the most glamorous of the Odessa area beaches, and also the cleanest. Here, you’ll find comfortable bungalows, night clubs, and other seaside entertainment.
