7. December 2012 by Lorena 0 Comments

Good manners will get you far; this is as true when dating Ukrainian and Russian girls as it is in any other situation. This week, we’ll learn how to say please, thank you, and excuse me.

The Russian word for please is also the word for “you’re welcome,” so, it’s used twice as much as please is in English.

A few words and phrases to show your most courtly manners to your favorite Ukrainian or Russian lady:

Please/You’re welcome

Tip: This word is used when making a request, and when granting one.

Thank you

Tip: While there are a number of differences between Russian and English diction, the use of “thank you” is pretty much the same as it is in English.

Excuse me – when asking for something. Literally “forgiveness.”

Tip: use with Пожалуйста to say, “excuse me, please”

Excuse me.

Tip: use this if you need to get past someone, or to get someone’s attention.
