Four cities in Ukraine will host EURO 2012 matches next month and the first one to welcome football fans will be Kharkiv (or Kharkov in Russian) for the Netherlands vs. Denmark match on June 9th.

Three matches total will take place in Kharkiv, which is the second largest city in Ukraine. Metalist Stadium was first opened in 1926 and has undergone four major renovations in the course of its history.

While football is taken very seriously in Kharkiv, there are plenty of other attractions to enjoy during a vacation in the city. Freedom Square, or Maidan Svobody, is a well-known landmark that's perfect for a romantic stroll with your Ukrainian bride.

You'll also want to be sure to see the Monument to Taras Shevchenko, the Mirror Stream Fountain, and the impressive architecture of the many cathedrals such as Blagoveshenskiy Cathedral, St. Basil's Cathedral, and Yspenskiy Cathedral.

Also, there are over 20 museums and 10 theaters to visit, along with the Kharkiv Zoo which is one of the biggest and most famous zoos in Ukraine. There is also the Dolphinarium and the Circus which are great places for fun-filled dates with your favorite ladies. Some of the top-rated places to stay include Chichikov Hotel, Kharkiv Palace Hotel, and Aurora Hotel.
