Bessarabka Market in Kiev is an indoor market with a wide range of goods at reasonable prices. The sights, smells, and sounds make this a must see place in Ukraine.

There are 109 markets in Kiev and most of them were built over 100 years ago. Bessarabsky Rynok, which is the Bessarabka Market, offers all kinds of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, seafood, caviar, spices, flowers, and more. This is the perfect place to stock up on fresh foods for your hotel or apartment during your stay.

They also offer a variety of vodkas and horilkas at very low prices. Imported foods from all the world can be found here year round. Not only is the variety most impressive, but the atmosphere of this famous market is something to experience. The salespeople love to give you samples of their products. Watching the consumers haggle and negotiate prices is very interesting, even if you don’t understand the language.

Most of Kiev’s markets are for outdoor shopping, so Bessarabka Market is even more popular in winter since it is one of the few indoor markets. It is located in the center of the city at the southwest end of Khreshchatyk, the main street of the city.
