Hotel Leopolis Wins World Travel Award

29. October 2010 by Michelle 0 Comments

In the center of Lviv, only a few steps from Rynok Square, sits Hotel Leopolis. Often touted as one of the best hotels in Ukraine, according to a myriad of travelers, the designation was made official this month by the World Travel Awards. Hotels, travel agencies and transportation companies from more than 160 countries are nominated annually for various categories and Hotel Leopolis was crowned “Best Ukrainian Hotel”.

One of the most talked about features is the magnificent multilingual staff. They will pick you up from the airport, treat you to guided walking tours of the city, and gladly arrange any services you need. From the moment you arrive until the second you leave, the employees treat you like family, calling you by name, remembering your room number, and always being available for advice and recommendations.

The stylish, yet intimate hotel restaurant serves a complimentary breakfast buffet and offers exquisite lunch and dinner menus. All guests are invited to the library lounge every day from 5-7pm for happy hour, where drinks and cigars are no extra charge.

In addition to 43 rooms and suites, the hotel is currently undergoing an expansion project to include 40 more rooms, another cocktail bar, a fitness and spa center, and a new restaurant – all in preparation for the influx of visitors for Euro 2012. The improvements are scheduled to be completed by March 2011.

This was the first time that Hotel Leopolis was nominated by the World Travel Awards. General director Udo Heine said, “For our team this award was a big surprise … We competed with the most prestigious hotels in Ukraine and the fact that we got the best title is a world recognition and a great victory not only for Leopolis, but also for our city.”
