Do You Know the Rules About Sharing Personal Contact Information?

14. June 2012 by Christy 0 Comments

Many men join Russian Love Match with the sole purpose of sharing their phone number with as many women as possible right off the bat. However, Russian Love’s Terms of Use prohibits this practice.

Russian Love Match’s Terms state that no member may “attempt to place, including but not limited to, telephone numbers, postal addresses, URLs, instant message IDs, email addresses, or any other type of personal contact information, in any outgoing correspondence provided through the Website unless all IMBRA notification and release requirements have been completed via the Intimacy Request option.”

In other words, you can’t share your personal contact information without following Russian Love’s specialized process. Some men try to get around this policy, by sending personal contact information anyway, or by devising some sort of code, but our email filters almost always catch these attempts.

While this policy may seem annoying or unfair, we have good reason for prohibiting members from releasing their personal contact information right away. Not only must we comply with the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act of 2005 (IMBRA), but we also want to keep members safe from harm and harassment. For this reason, we have created a service that allows people to get to know one another without the worry that goes into exchanging addresses and phone numbers right away.

Remember, the “no personal contact info” policy is only temporary. If you feel you're ready to share your digits, here’s a video tutorial on how to exchange personal contact information with a lady.
