Asking for Gifts is Not Allowed

11. November 2011 by Michelle 0 Comments

It's wise to be cautious when talking with anyone on internet dating sites, but some gentlemen worry a little more with Russian brides. Myths and rumors run rampant about scammers, so if a lady starts hinting for a man to send her gifts, it's common for him to see a red flag.

While this behavior is a violation of policy, it doesn't mean she's a scammer. There are very understandable reasons that ladies may slip up and ask for gifts.

One is because Russian women are inherently very romantic and emotional. They often get caught up in all the excitement and adoration that they anticipate the additional phases of courting, which typically involve men showing their fondness in the form of flowers, perfume, candy, or jewelry. However, men should take this next step at their own pace. It's okay to tell a lady you're not ready to show your affection in that way yet or simply just change the subject.

Another reason a Russian bride may ask for gifts is because she sees other singles around her being showered with them. Since many girls can't afford computers and internet access at home, they travel to dating agencies. When they see their friends receiving surprises from suitors, they long to be loved like that too.

Asking for gifts is a strict violation of the policy so men are encouraged to contact customer service if they experience this behavior. The lady will be warned and reminded of the rules. If she continues to violate the policy, she may even be removed from the site.

While you may never experience this, it's helpful to know that it can happen and it's no cause for alarm. Most of the single women are so polite and respectful that they would never even consider asking for gifts. Log on to and find your match today!
